Litha & Yule - Solstice sisters
Posted by Sereia Guardiã on 21st Nov 2024
Legends tell that the most powerful forces in the ocean are not the storms or whirlpools, but the two sisters who guard the cycles of life on land and sea: Litha and Yule, the Goddesses of the Solstices.
Litha, the Goddess of Summer, is pure energy and warmth. With sun-kissed skin and a radiance that seems to set the waters around her ablaze, her presence is impossible to ignore. Her laughter echoes like waves crashing onto golden shores, and every move she makes is a celebration of life. Litha embodies movement, growth, and joy – everything that blooms in the fullness of summer belongs to her.
Yule, the Goddess of Winter, is the keeper of silence and introspection. Her presence is serene, almost ethereal, and she moves with the grace of a snowflake drifting through water. Her voice is a whisper that comforts and guides. Where Litha warms, Yule shelters. Where Litha exalts life, Yule prepares the world for the rest necessary for renewal.
Separated by hemispheres, the sisters are in constant motion, swimming in opposite directions to maintain balance. Only twice a year, during the equinoxes, do their paths cross, creating moments of perfect harmony between light and shadow, warmth and cold.
It is said that the sisters become most powerful when united, but destiny keeps them apart most of the time. While Litha dances in the warm waters of summer, Yule rests in the icy depths of winter, patiently awaiting her time to reign.
As Litha inspires merfolk to embrace energy and vitality, Yule reminds them of the importance of pausing, reflecting, and honoring inner cycles. Both are essential, and neither can exist without the other.
No one knows for sure what happens when they meet during the equinoxes. Some say the waters tremble and light and darkness intertwine in a unique spectacle, visible only to those who truly understand the balance the sisters represent.
The Guardian Council believes that in the coming solstices, the power of Litha and Yule will be felt like never before. After all, the world is in constant transformation, and the Goddesses of the Solstices always respond to its call.
Now, the question is yours to answer: which energy guides your days? The blazing warmth of Litha or the deep serenity of Yule?
